Village Irrigation Works
And in the same context as the Government has invested
in irrigation works, minor rural irrigation work, established
with Government financial assistance and regional voluntary labour,
have been in operation from early time. And the contribution
from rural minor irrigation amounted to about one million acres
in 1995-96.
Altogether (66) irrigation networks, benefitting (965,810) acres have
been accomplished since the assumption of responsibilities by the State
Law and Order Restoration Council and to date. Further (37) irrigation
works are in the process of construction, and measures are being taken
to complete the following by December, 1996. |
